Zambian Designer Nominated for Prestigious Swahili Fashion Week Award

Nkanda Yatu, a fashion designer from Zambia, has been nominated for the Africa Designer of The Year award at the 2023 Swahili Fashion Week Awards, which will take place from December 1st to 3rd, 2023.

Fans can vote for their favorite designer by sending the nominee’s code via email or through the Swahili Fashion Week website.

Nkanda Yatu is a luxury clothing brand in Zambia and Namibia, and the designer has been invited to showcase at the Milan Fashion Week in Italy to an audience of global participants and leaders in fashion.

The Swahili Fashion Week is an annual fashion event in Africa that provides a platform for fashion and accessory designers from Swahili-speaking countries and beyond to showcase their talent, market their creativity, and network with clientele and the international fashion industry.

The event attracts over 50 fashion designers, mostly from Swahili-speaking countries, to showcase their creations.
