Chanda Mbao Embarks On A Project To Discover Fresh Talent Countrywide
Chanda Mbao has announced that he will embark on a countrywide project to discover fresh talent to work with in his upcoming album. The campaign is aimed at discovering atleast one artist (or group) & one producer from each of the 10 provinces of Zambia. According to the “Wave” sequel mastermind, the idea is to promote the value of unity in among artists in the country, thats why he intends to bring out this project exactly on the eve of Independence Day (23rd October)
The project will be shared on Mvesesani.com, with all proceeds to be redirected to a Charity Organisation with Zambia.
Chanda Mbao has been the pioneer of Zambian HipHop especially beyond boarders. Most of his classic videos have made it to Channel O’s Top10 Countdowns as well as MTV Base. His most recent release of the Final Wave which featured Jay Rox, Scott & Nigeria’s Skales saw him break boundaries with International Radio Stations, Music Channels and Blogs. The song also enlisted on the Top 10 Afro Music countdown in South Africa.

ANNOUNCEMENT ALERT!!! 🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲
As Yo Bally Association of Zambia President, I want to do something to contribute to the unity of Zambian musicians…particularly young Zambian talent on the rise. I know there’s a lot of hard-working young artists out there in every corner of the country who just need a little extra push and I don’t have all the resources etc. to ‘put anyone on’ BUT I feel I can make a contribution…
So…here’s what I’m going to do: I’m going to put together a collaborative project where the goal is to highlight young artists and producers from EVERY province in Zambia who I will feature alongside…I want to do this for two reasons: 1) to foster the spirit of “One Zambia, One Nation” and 2) to build the culture and help create more platforms for our young talent. I believe we need to create more of a culture of UNITY and INCLUSIVENESS (rather than discord and ‘pull him down’).
Me and my team will pick one producer and one artist (or group) from EACH province (Southern, Central, Lusaka, Western, North-Western, Eastern, Luapula, Muchinga, Northern and Copperbelt) to highlight resulting in a 10 track project. We’re especially keen on encouraging and promoting young talents who pay homage to and represent their home town/region in a unique way.
This won’t be easy to organize but we’ve committed to doing it FOR THE CULTURE and FOR UNITY…we’ve already started contacting people who’ve been suggested but for people who wish to make a submission, please send ONLY ONE sample track (either production or finished song) to mumamba@chandambao.com or 0971 874827 with a brief biography (PLEASE BE PROFESSIONAL). He will reach back out to the people who are selected for the final collaboration.
We will need to work quickly because the goal is to release the project on *Friday, October 23rd, 2020* just in time for INDEPENDENCE DAY!!! Also, for paid downloads, the project will be released on Mvesesani (a Zambian platform) where ALL PROCEEDS will be collected and DONATED to a ZAMBIAN charity.
THIS IS A CHALLENGE TO US, GUYS!!! LET’S DO IT!!
