Camstar opens Up On His Main Reason For Leaving Kopala Swag: “To Me It Was A Loss”

XYZ hardcore rapper Camstar aka Capital was invited live for an interview with DJ Pressure T PMC on Joy Fm. Also in attendance was labelmate Brawen. The two where invited to discuss the success being enjoyed from their latest music videos.

Brawen, recently teamed up with Slapdee in Kuseni Seni, based on the hustle from the people around the Lusaka streets. The song has been received with open hands and gratitude from various supporters as well as critics. On the other hand, Camstar has two latest videos after a long break from music. He first gave out “Let You Down” alongside Jorzi, then later teamed up with Tommy D in “Bena“.

However, DJ Pressure T being the diligent presenter he is, was so determined to clear out the air with the main reason why Camstar switched camps to join XYZ from Alpha Entertainments. And it was obvious that the “Come Back Home” hit maker was very much prepared to open up.
Camstar started off by suggesting his connection with Kopala Swag/Alpha Entertainments was because of his upright relationship with Chef 187. He got connected, and they started to create music for the love of it, but there were no formal documents signed prior to Camstar’s affiliation with the Record Label.

Another reason why Camstar left was because he believes Alpha Entertainment lacks a proper support system for the artists under its wing (except Chef 187 & Macky 2 who have a personal Manager each). He said the label was not doing enough to brand him as an artist, therefore believes his time spend at Alpha Entertainments was nothing but a loss, for he has nothing to show off in honour of being part of the Copperbelt based team.

However, unlike his previous camp, Camstar has praised XYZ for being a business-oriented Record Label that has enough representation for an individual artist and says he is happy to work with the right camp.
Camstar has also hinted at having more than 50 songs ready recorded and is considering giving out a full project any time soon. For the full interview, check out the recording below:
